Custom Engineered Fire Protection Solutions Protecting FortisBC Remote Compressor stations  

Ontario, Canada – November 23, 2020 – inControl Systems Inc., a Canadian manufacturer and integrator of engineered fire protection solutions, is pleased to announce another successful completion of the supply of a custom-designed firefighting foam system to protect the remotely located FORTISBC natural gas compressor station in Kitchener BC. 

With the FORTISBC LNG gas compressor stations being remotely located in the mountains of British Columbia, providing a suitable fire protection solution can prove to be very challenging with traditional fire systems. A project in such remote mountainous locations as this one, with no available water supply, requires innovative and creative engineering. The team at inControl Systems Inc. thrive on opportunities and challenges such as this. The engineers at inControl Systems designed and developed a completely stand-alone and integrated fire protection solution based upon the guiding principles of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). This integrated and self-contained fire protection solution was all neatly packaged and mounted on a tidy skid frame, for easy transportation, and plug and play installation at site.

Additionally, Mr. Colarocchio goes on to say, “at this particular site, our system was being installed in the area where the fire risk was, so we had to supply an explosion-proof version of our firefighting foam system. This required special attention to detail in the design and integration, so that we would adhere to the strict requirements in this environment.”
