Room Integrity Testing

inControl Systems Inc., a Canadian manufacturer, integrator, and supplier of engineered fire protection solutions, is offering Room Integrity Testing. 
 
inControl Systems Inc. is certified and authorized to perform Room Integrity Testing. 

A Room integrity Test, or enclosure integrity test, works by pressurizing a closed room or enclosure where the installed Fire Suppression System will discharge, in case of an alarm.
 
The pressurization of the room or container then measures the integrity of the room to determine how well the room will hold the air pressure and not leak.
 
Holding the air pressure in the room is required to ensure that when the fire protection cylinder gas is discharged into the room, the gas will not dissipate too quickly, before being able to extinguish the fire.
 
If the room “leaks” and the gas dissipates too quickly, the concentration of fire suppression gas will be too low, and ineffective in putting the fire out.

Critical OFF-GAS Monitoring System now available from inControl Systems

Ontario, Canada – 30 March, 2021 – inControl Systems Inc., a Canadian manufacturer and integrator of engineered fire protection solutions, now offering a sophisticated  “multi-layer” fire protection solution for ESS Energy Storage Systems.

With a growing demand globally for advanced energy storage solutions (ESS), there are growing concerns of fires that result from damaged storage devices and batteries. The hazards from damaged ESS can be a condition known as “Thermal Runaway”.  Thermal runaway is when there is a fast and uncontrolled discharge of heat from a battery cell. The heat is so significant, that it cannot effectively be dissipated. The thermal runaway in a single battery cell will easily cause damage to cells in immediately proximity, thus creating a chain reaction of cells. The end result being a battery fire, or an explosion, in extreme cases.

When a battery cell is compromised, either by mechanical, electrical or environmental abuse, the batteries will create and emit toxic, flammable gasses. These are known as off-gases.

Immediate detection of off-gases will stop the situation from escalating into a full-scale fire or explosion. This is where the new technology offered by inControl Systems comes in.

In addition to off-gas detection, inControl Systems offers their innovative “Multi-Layered” ESS fire protection solution, providing a complete and integrated solution to effectively and quickly mitigate the risk and avoid catastrophic damage from fire.

Custom Engineered Fire Protection Solutions Protecting FortisBC Remote Compressor stations  

Ontario, Canada – November 23, 2020 – inControl Systems Inc., a Canadian manufacturer and integrator of engineered fire protection solutions, is pleased to announce another successful completion of the supply of a custom-designed firefighting foam system to protect the remotely located FORTISBC natural gas compressor station in Kitchener BC. 

With the FORTISBC LNG gas compressor stations being remotely located in the mountains of British Columbia, providing a suitable fire protection solution can prove to be very challenging with traditional fire systems. A project in such remote mountainous locations as this one, with no available water supply, requires innovative and creative engineering. The team at inControl Systems Inc. thrive on opportunities and challenges such as this. The engineers at inControl Systems designed and developed a completely stand-alone and integrated fire protection solution based upon the guiding principles of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). This integrated and self-contained fire protection solution was all neatly packaged and mounted on a tidy skid frame, for easy transportation, and plug and play installation at site.

Additionally, Mr. Colarocchio goes on to say, “at this particular site, our system was being installed in the area where the fire risk was, so we had to supply an explosion-proof version of our firefighting foam system. This required special attention to detail in the design and integration, so that we would adhere to the strict requirements in this environment.”

inControl Systems Inc. CO2 Fire Suppression Systems Now Certified with Lloyd’s Register

Ontario, Canada – November 15, 2017 – inControl Systems Inc., a Canadian manufacturer, integrator and supplier of fire protection systems, confirms it has received certification of Type Approval from Lloyds Register of London, for their CO2 fire suppression systems to be used in Marine and offshore applications.
 
The “Fixed Fire Extinguishing System” supplied by inControl Systems is designed to comply with the International Convention for the Safety of Life At Sea (SOLAS) 1974, as amended, Chapter II-2, regulation 10, and the Fire Safety Systems Code Chapter 5. This system is intended for use in cargo spaces, machinery spaces of Category A, and cargo pump rooms.
